An autonomous system on a Lisbon terrace tracks every aircraft on final approach and departure — combining ADS-B radar, acoustic sensors, and AI vision to document the skies above Humberto Delgado Airport.
Three layers of technology working in real time, 24 hours a day, from a residential terrace in Lisbon directly under the final approach path.
ADS-B transponder data is received in real time — altitude, speed, heading, callsign, airline. Cross-referenced with acoustic sensors measuring noise levels in dB SPL.
A 4K dual-lens camera locks onto the aircraft. YOLO neural network validates the frame quality. Claude AI analyzes the image and generates the caption — aircraft type, livery, context.
The best frame is automatically published to Instagram with a complete caption — callsign, airline, altitude, speed, noise level. Zero human intervention required.
Every aircraft captured since May 3 — high-res, timestamped, with full ADS-B data. Available for researchers, enthusiasts and institutions.
Every flight is measured in real time. We record peak SPL levels, duration, and frequency — building a continuous acoustic map of what it means to live under the final approach path to LPPT.
Continuous log with timestamps, callsigns, dB levels and infraction records — structured for regulatory review or noise impact studies.
High-res photo archive of every aircraft captured since May 3 — timestamped and matched with full ADS-B data.
ANAC strictly regulates night operations at LPPT. Aircraft exceeding 98.9 EPNdB are prohibited between 00:00–06:00. We track every potential violation in real time.
